I do overall enjoy this. This is a great game jam submission. The graphics are cute and I really like your interpretation of duality. Very good on that part.

Some things I have noticed that you may consider
- Music and sound effects are absent
- When colliding with an enemy the level completely resets suddenly without transition. A transition, death animation, or game over screen would look much better.
- Some variation in the blocks and backgrounds can make the game feel more natural.

Again I know this is a game jam game, and I really think you did quite well on this, but I hope my feedback will help you.

Music is absent because i'm really not good with it, and i just chose to spare people from the suffering. I'm just now trying to get into it, so in the future Soon™update.
Transition would be nice, i'm do know some nice tricks for it now, but i was lacking the knowledge back than, it's a nice idea to add.
With the variations i'm torn a bit, is i want the player to be able to get every speck of info on the fly in mere second, because some parts need it to progress. That's the reason for the absent of variety, i just wanted to keep it clean, minimal and consistent.
Thank you for your feedback!

I'll be honest here, I like the overall presentation, cute sprites, and music.

However, the actual game was very confusing on what to do. I personally don't see where the folk dancing comes in (Aside from the music). A tutorial would be helpful. More GUI animations and sound effects would be nice too.
I do think this game has potential, but you're going to need a lot more work on this. Hope my feedback helps you.

Thanks It's a simple demo, I made a very little game becouse I think the Dolk dance is cool and the idle game is easy and good. in the future I will make the Pixel Fighter 2 and fix the Folk Dancer. ^^

I'll be honest with you, a lot of unity games on Newgrounds are unimpressive, but this one got me pretty good. I'll admit I found myself playing this for a while.
I'll start off with the things I like,

- Music is calming, which is good for this type of game
- GUI and art is great, suits the game. (Though they do feel a bit like pre made assets)
- Most of these games have limits that make the game require some thinking. I think you've accomplished this with the rope limit
- I enjoy the animations

I do think your game overall is pretty good, but here are some things that I found that maybe you would consider fixing/adding:

- The game starts to get repetitive and boring after a while. Most games of these types avoid this by implementing new mechanics and obstacles as you go, instead of being the same throughout. I know you did this but it seems a bit too long until you see a new obstacle/mechanic.
- Some of the sprites (Especially the star sprites) seem to have a white outline. I can't tell if this was intentional but it seems like an error with the cropping.
- Even with the nice animations, the levels do feel a bit empty and dead. You could fix this by adding swaying trees, shrubs, or even small animals to make the game feel more alive.
- Different backgrounds would be a nice change, as the current one (Though I like it) gets boring after a while

I hope my feedback helps you.

Shamahan responds:

Thanks a ton for a honest critique!
I will take in to consideration and add all of your points into my "To Do" list.
As for the backgrounds, there are chests that you buy for gems that contain different kinds of skins for your rope, moving piece and even background. But I see that it wasn't communicated very well in the game and I will have to introduce that better.

And yes, this helps a lot.

As others have said, I also think this game has potential. I have listed things that you need to fix.

- The ball should only spawn when the game is started
- The ball sometimes gets stuck inside sprites. Tune the collision a bit more.
- When someone scores, the ball should reset to the middle position, where it will move towards the player that lost a point
- Some different music tracks would help too
- Make a pop animation or something for the ball when it's a game over, same with when you score.
- Instead of keys, maybe it would help to put in some buttons to change character instead
- The ball is stuck in the same rotation through the game. Make it rotate as it bounces to provide more realism
- This isn't just a pong game, this is power man's pong game! Instead of just playing it as a normal pong game why not spice things up and add things like powerups or obstacles?
- Background gets boring after a while. Maybe switch to a random background each game? An animated background would be nice too.
- Enemy has the same movements, always predictable. Maybe make a simple ai system? You can message me if you need help with that.

These are my opinions, but again it's your game. Hope this helped.

Chukoloco08 responds:

I was able to add new backgrounds, ball animations for when it pops, and even new music tracks! I will think about a plan to put power-up(s) in the game soon though. And possibly use buttons to switch characters.

This is a first game? I am completely blown away. I can see why this is front-paged.
All I'm thinking is what great games you'll make in the future, keep it up man!

HealliesGames responds:

Well yes, but actually no. x)

Thanks for playing, nullBinary!

No music, plane sounds should be continuous and should use a different sound effect. You can crash into clouds? GUI isn't very good, and you should use something like a smoke texture for the explosion instead of unity's default particle texture.

Edit: I personally don't think it's right to have planes crashing into clouds. Why not use birds or something?

MikroArts responds:

Thank you and for playing and for feedback! You are right, lot of things are missing.
I will take your remarks and apply them on next update! Very thanks again!!!

And for the clouds.. Yes, you can crash into clouds, why not? This is a game though, i could also put flying snails..

Not bad, but I personally think you should use WASD or arrow keys instead of the mouse. There should be a penalty from touching the walls, otherwise the game is too easy. Some more animations would also help.

PatrickZochAlves responds:

Hi nullBinary,

Normally you should drop the triangle and lose a little bit of time when you touch a wall (and don't the shield star), does it do that for you?

About the WASD, I actually developped the game thinking about touch screens, that's why I use the mouse over the keyboard. We'll see if it works in the future.

Lastly, most of people say the game is pretty hard, if you could develop a little more about why you find it easy it would be great, I then could adjust the difficulty. By the way, could you tell me in which level you stopped?

Thanks for playing and commenting!
